Union County Indiana Bicentenial

Happy 200th Birthday, Union County, Indiana. This is the  county where we live in the county seat named Liberty. Early settlers made the first land entries in 1804. These folks had pushed their way west from Virginia, the Carolinas, New Jersey, and Maryland along a trail called The Carolina Trace. The church on our mile corner started in 1818 and is still an active congregation. Our county was formed from bits of three other counties in 1821, hence the name Union. Across the fields from our place we can see a home that was a stop on the Underground Railroad. We love our adopted hometown and county.
