Yet Another Aquamarine Goes WalkAbout

It is 2:30 AM. What am I doing up in the middle of the night, you might ask. Well, it is another ring story. If any of you read my earlier blogs, you might remember The Story of the Rogue Ring, see Feb 23, 2019 below in Older Posts.  It looks like those birthstone rings aren't through with me yet.
I suddenly woke up a while ago as I heard OrsonDog, sleeping nearby, give an unusually loud snore. Upon waking, I have the habit of feeling for my rings. I sat up all in a panic as my birthstone ring was not on my finger. Just as an aside, this is my own ring, not the one I inherited from my MIL which the family jokingly calls TheRock. I gingerly felt around in the sheets, under my pillow, and peeked all around the bed on the floor. Noda
My  mind raced. Where could it be? Maybe it had come off while I was doing a last load of wash. I ran to the laundry room and checked the washer and dryer. Nope. I looked in the bathroom and kitchen sinks, peering down the drains. Nothing.
As it happened, HeHimself was already up too. I guess it is a senior thing. He commiserated with me as I kept searching. He agreed we should call HeatingPlumbingGuy later to come check the pipe traps.
During the last muggy days I had thrown a  printed sheet over my recliner to make it feel cooler. Now, as I went to sit down and ponder where to look next, I gave the sheet a little shake to straighten it. Something flew up, glistened in the lamplight, and then disappeared. Could it be?
Hoping against hope, I felt about in amongst the folds of the sheet. Nothing, nothing, nothing, and then...Eureka! I touched that BadBoy, squirrelled away, down between the cushion and the arm of the chair. Gotcha, I screamed, Thank you, Jesus! I ran and gave HeHimself a hug. I was so happy and thankful.
The ring is safely back on my finger, and I hope it stays there. After I said another thank you prayer, I laughed to myself. I can remember a picture of me as a baby, wearing a little ring given me by my Godmother. For the picture Mom had looped a narrow satin ribbon through the ring and tied it up and around my wrist in a bow to be sure it did not slip off and get lost. Hmm...maybe I need to get me some narrow satin ribbon...smile.
