Family History-Civil War Times

It is another gray, wet day. Nothing to take a picture of. In the last few days I've had two relatives, one from my side and one from HeHimself's side, contact me with new genealogy material to think about.

Here is one of Grandma Rueber's people when he was in the Civil War, Royal Alonson Jenkins, age 19. He had a hard time of it, spending 9 mos as POW at Andersonville, GA. But he survived, came home, got married, had a number of kids, and lived to see his 87th birthday. 

I love pulling together bits and pieces from public records, memorabilia, and family stories to record yet another life saga for our family history.
