Grandma G's Tuna Macaroni Salad Blog 22
This Tuna Macaroni Salad is a good side for a cook-out or can be a main dish for lunch or supper. I don't have an exact recipe for this, but here is an ingredient list that you can adjust to your own taste or to what you have on hand.
It is pasta, tuna, mayo, onion, green pepper, celery, green peas (not canned), salt and pepper, a bit of mustard, a splash of white vinegar or lemon juice, some pickle relish, and a squirt of ranch dressing.
Sometimes I throw in shredded cheese and/or some chopped hard boiled egg. My grandmother used to add chopped cucumber and tomato too.
My favorite pasta for this is the small shells. For a pound box of pasta, I use two cans of drained tuna since the cans are smaller these days. You can substitute diced cooked chicken or ham for the tuna.
Chill a couple hours before serving. Enjoy!
