What do you know about your grandparents' growing-up years? Did they travel or live in other places? 

Today's Birthday Book entry is HeHimself's grandpa, "Louie" Bogner. HeHimself remembers him as a quiet, easy-going man with dark blue eyes. He must have been brave too, as in his early twenties he ventured north from Iowa to join relatives farming on the vast plains of Saskatchewan, even giving up his U.S. citizenship for a time. However, the remembrance of the girl he left behind prompted him to return home in 1917 where he married his sweet Clara, raising 3 daughters and finally a son.
